The poetry of the members of Cántico, in Cordoba, significantly draws away from the two main tendencies of creation in force during the 40s and 50s in Spain. This voluntary distance meant that the attention of the critics and the academy was scarce and not very rigorous until, in 1976, Guillermo Carnero publishes his classic study of the group. However, this work points out that the vindication of the poets of Cántico begins a few years earlier, in Malaga, in what would be the prelude to a more than just acknowledgment shaped years later in a general way, with his full incorporation to the literary canon.
