Violence and animality: molecular-becoming in the novel La perra by Pilar Quintana

Abstract

This article analyzes the novel La perra (2017) by Pilar Quintana, the physical space where the events occur is the Colombian Pacific coast which represents an area of ​​violence, segregation and discrimination. Likewise, the analysis will try to focus on a policy of literature that reveals abandonment, where both humans and animals are killed anonymously, their corpses are lost between the jungle and the sea, they are only made visible when the scavengers birds appear. In relation to the latter, an attempt is made to show that there is a link between humans and animals, which contagion enables resistance, based on the concept of becoming-animal.
