Critical Discourses of Argentinian Literature for Children (2000-2013) from a Historical Perspective or the Tradition of the Theoretical and Pedagogical Discussions

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the tradition of the historical, social, and cultural approaches that constitute our children’s and young people’s literature (LIJ for its initials in Spanish), according to the representation of the circumstances, processes, agents and intervening agencies that end up participating in the configuration of critical discourses of Argentinian literature for children (LAPN for its initial in Spanish) in the context of the 2000/2013 production. We state that this concomitance contributes to the consolidation of LIJ, associated to the progressive settlement of both a literary as well as theoretical production that is specific of this field. We postulate as well, an analytical-interpretative approach of critical texts belonging to the previous decades of the above mentioned period, so as to highlight the historical perspective of the theoretical and pedagogical discussions, giving direction to the tension of the stereotypes related to childhood and adult hegemonies, as well as redefining literature for children and young people from an esthetical experience perspective.
