Nellie Campobello or the Wild Otherness. About Mom’s Hands

The results of an appraisal of Nellie Campobello’s The Hands of Mom, are presented, with the purpose of explaining, at least in part, the infrequent expose of her work. It concludes that this work uses melodrama as the main genre, with the consequent representation of polarized opposites in which Campobello assumes a symbolic place that led to its segregation, both literary and editorial.
