Abstract

The present article of reflection intends to examine the points of contact existing between these two foundational novels of the literature of the Colombian Cauca Valley. For this purpose, the following axes of inquiry will be analyzed: the romantic idyll, the presence of the agrarian and the allusions to the urban, the defense of Catholic values and the figuration of the blacks in a class and patriarchal context.
